Lovely little place. Would say most suitable for under 5 years old. Little ride on train, bouncing pillow, crazy golf, merry go round, park and go cart area. Very friendly staff. Lots of picnic tables to use and an indoor picnic area.

Massively overpriced for what it is

We had such a great day out at Whistlestop! My daughter is 2.5 and she loved it, there is so much to do for that age. Being able to go on the train and miniature railway multiple times is great, and there were no queues for anything. The cafe was lovely and really good value. We'll definitely be back!

It's become our Christmas tradition with the kids and we've been every year for the last 6 years. The Santa is EXCELLENT, and the rest of the cast put on a great show.

We had a really disappointing visit. Firstly we had to pay £15.99 for my niece to ride the train even though she’s one month old and slept in her carrier all day. Then we went to the Elf Christmas show which was awful and really inappropriate. It was about two elves who hate Christmas and bought all the presents from Temu and they were on a beach. They got two adults to join the stage, not any kids which is odd for a children’s show. It wasn’t a festive or age appropriate viewing and it made a lot of the kids question Christmas. The train wasn’t Christmassy it didn’t have any decorations on it and the staff were just so rude even though they were dressed is festive outfits. The only positive was the Santa Claus he was absolutely brilliant and seemed so real. It was our second visit and the whole day just wasn’t the festive fun day we’d imagined for the kids.

We come fairly often for a big adventure, but the Santa experience really is second -to-none! Just fabulous going up to the north pole, meeting the big guy, and all the elves... They are so jolly, fun, kind, patient and attentive. Just amazing! The whole thing is put together so well, I can't recommend it highly enough. It's costly, but what Santa experience isn't? And this one, I feel you truly get what you pay for. Our son (and is adults too, to be frank!) find the whole experience completely magical. Thankyou for all the hard work!

We've done Polar Express, Loterton Hall, Mother Shiptons and Piglet Farm and this has been by far the best Christmas experience. Apart from the bad weather we had a great time. Lots to do. We spent 3 hours here and if the weather had been better could have easily done another 1 or 2. Took our 2 year old and 5 year old and they really enjoyed it. Think we will book again next year. You see an elf show then get a train up to North Pole and have an hour their and visit santa then back on the train and there's more activities to do.

Great day out, well organised for the santa visit, the grandkids loved it, the only let down was the weather. Fantastic santa, overall fabulous 👌

We have been with our grandson many times and this year we were unable to take him until last week as we have moved area. He is now 7 years old and thought he wouldn't enjoy it as much but he had a great time.

Visited Whistle-stop Valley at Kirklees for Halloween in the school holidays. I took my 7 year old grandson and we had a great day. Lots of entertainment for kids, he loved the mini golf, ghost train, skeleton spotting puzzle, and the train to Shelley and back. There is a mini disco and little fair rides for the younger kids and a jumping pillow/ castle type. The cafe sells lovely pizzas and coffee. This place is a good price as when you pay initially, everything is free when you get in which is good value especially when we went on the mini golf twice and the ghost train 3 times. The staff are all friendly, smiley and helpful. Great family day out! Highly recommend Whistle-stop Valley.

Just been to whistlestop valley today with my two girls (6 and 5) and my sister with her kids (8 and 5) and it has to be one of the worst and most overpriced days out I’ve ever been on. The website makes it seem like there’s loads to do but after an hour we were pretty much done. “Free unlimited fairground rides” = just 2 of the smallest fairground rides I’ve seen. The “Halloween glow in the dark disco” was in a freezing cold shed with some music and a few bubbles nothing Halloween or glow in the dark about it. The “ghost train” wasn’t in any way Halloween themed. Took 25 mins to get to “the other side of the park” which was a tiny muddy wet playground, a freezing cold room with a TV in and a few beanbags, an “ice cream parlour” with only vegan ice cream… I could go on. And all of this for more money than we paid to go to York Maze!!! INSANE! It might be better for younger kids but there still better ways to spend your money. Don’t bother!
